The company announced on the blog introducing changes in the Community Help function and increasing the range of its operation. It is to become a tool connecting all those who need help with people who can provide it.

Groups of people willing to help are already organizing themselves on Facebook .

Facebook is perfect for this type of action. The Visible Hand group has been thriving almost since the beginning of the crisis in Poland, and its local branches cover specific cities, towns and even districts - a map with them can be found here . In the information, we can also find groups dedicated to specific topics - practicing sport at home, the crisis order market or caring for animals.

However, groups on Facebook are a tool far from perfect, and quick finding, especially in this large, interesting information can cause a lot of problems. Community Help is to solve them.

Local help on Facebook

Community Help debuted in 2017, but only in selected parts of the world and only as a response to local crises - earthquakes, fires, floods. Now, in the event of a pandemic, the crisis is permanent, so the option is turned on permanently. Over time, not only its capabilities are to be expanded, but also its range.

The function aims to simplify connecting people who need help with people from the area willing to provide it. In the new tab you will be able to see ads appearing within a radius of about 80 km from us and filter them in terms of what kind of help we are looking for or which we can offer ourselves. Posts can be viewed chronologically or by category such as food, volunteer work, supplies, transport, etc.

Under the ads you will find information about how far away is the person offering help or needing help. We can respond to the announcement itself by commenting on it or by sending a direct message to the advertiser on Messenger.

For now, the Community Help feature is only available in the United States, Great Britain, France, Australia and Canada, but Facebook has announced that it will start appearing in more countries in the next few weeks. I hope that Poland will be among them.
