Microsoft stopped production of the Xbox One X and Xbox One S: All-digital Edition consoles. For some time, Xbox One S consoles will still be produced, but all forces are soon to focus on the new generation.

When the unintroduced Xbox One was presented by Microsoft, the world was surprised. The future of Xbox was to be ... television? No free resale of games? Controlling TV and games using dance steps? It was a very strange premiere, and Microsoft had to pay a raw price for its mistake: Xbox One sold more than twice as bad as PlayStation 4 .

Fortunately, Microsoft quickly understood its error - otherwise today we would not even talk about Xbox. The management of the department was replaced and the players and video games became the goal of development again. The Xbox One console has been replaced by Xbox One S , and over time the even more powerful Xbox One X appeared. Of course, all three consoles are compatible with each other, differing only in the quality of the image offered in games and multimedia.

Now, however, the Xbox One story is slowly ending.

Xbox One S All-digital Edition and Xbox One X are no longer produced.

This is the first stage of blanking the Xbox One generation for the upcoming Xbox Series. Xbox One S will still be in production, as a device offering an absurdly favorable price-performance ratio, which will probably still find buyers, even though its time is running out. The version without a drive and the version with a stronger graphics will slowly disappear from the stores and the offer.

Microsoft has not provided the exact dates of abandonment of people who bought one of the Xbox One consoles. In terms of service support, we can probably be calm, after all, Xbox 360 is still accepted at service points and is still receiving system patches, even though this console appeared on the market at the end of 2005.

When it comes to games on Xbox One, we know that:

  • Studios from Xbox Game Studios are expected to release all their games on both Xbox One and Xbox Series by the end of 2022.
  • Studios at Xbox Game Studios are expected to release games on Xbox One over the next few years
  • External studies can, as always, do what they want. It should be assumed that they will be publishing games for Xbox One for at least two years - after all, more potential customers will be on the older platform during this time

The future, however, belongs to the Xbox Series consoles.

We've already met the first of them, the Xbox Series X. Next week we are to know the first Xbox Game Studios games for new equipment, and its price in the coming weeks. Aside from the Xbox X Series, according to unconfirmed information, we should expect a cheaper Xbox Series S.

Xbox Series S is expected to differ from the more expensive console by the lack of an optical drive and a cheaper graphics system. The games are to run on Series X usually at 4K resolution at 60 fps, on Series S at 1080p resolution at 60 fps.
