Huawei Mate 40 series: teaser reveals octagonal camera module

Huawei released the first official Huawei Mate 40 series teaser poster ahead of the announcement on October 22nd . And surprises with an octagonal camera module.

The new flagships appear to be equipped with a unique octagonal camera body. Interestingly, the design of the camera module appears to be in line with a design patent released by the CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Administration) in September.

The silhouette of the Huawei Mate 40 series shows that they will be the first models with an octagonal camera module. Presumably the Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro + and Mate 40 RS Porsche Design will get the same camera design.

It is still unclear how many cameras will be available in the Huawei Mate 40, but there is speculation that the devices could be equipped with a camera with a penta lens.
