Latest pixel feature drop brings The Mandalorian AR experience
Today, Google announced the final Pixel Feature Drop of the year, with mostly new features for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 4 series. However, there is a new feature for the 5G pixel models. The Mandalorian AR experience comes to the models.
Google, Disney and Lucasfilm have worked together to bring this AR experience to smartphones. It is an augmented reality app for the 5G pixel models.
A number of functions that were announced for the Pixel 5 at the end of September are finally finding their way to older Pixel devices. These will be available for the Pixel 3 and newer. The two-year-old cell phones are also given some new functions.
The new "Hold for me" from the Google Assistant is coming to the Pixel 3 and newer devices. This allows the Google Assistant to sit on hold for you instead of having to listen to the music on hold yourself.
Extreme Battery Saver is also coming out for older Pixel devices. This is going to be really useful on the Pixel 4 as the battery life on that device has been absolutely terrible.
Finally, the new, redesigned photo editor in Google Photos will also be rolled out to the Pixel 3 and newer. This offers improved tools for editing the photos.
This Pixel Feature Drop will be introduced with the latest security update, also announced by Google today.
