{Disarmed} How to know if your Xiaomi mobile has fast charge and is using it to charge at maximum speed
It is very easy to discover if your Xiaomi enjoys the advantages of fast charging technologies, those that give us the opportunity to charge the mobile in less than 10 minutes , compared to the usual two hours of yesteryear. Of course, not all Xiaomi are compatible with fast charging, nor do all chargers have the technological infrastructure to offer the best fast charging at all times.
If you want to know if your Xiaomi mobile is charging to the maximum supported, if it has fast charging or if, on the contrary, you are not taking full advantage of it, there are two ways to find out . We tell you how, thanks to the different options that MIUI offers.
What happens when you charge your Xiaomi at maximum speed
Every time you connect your Xiaomi mobile to the charger —or by cable to the USB port of any system— you will see that the smartphone will begin to charge. However, the charging icon changes depending on the type of power supply it is receiving.
There are several ways to identify when your Xiaomi —and, by extension, your Redmi or POCO— is being charged with a slow, fast or extra fast charge. The first difference is merely visual:
- Conventional charging displays a simple lightning bolt icon . Every time we connect the charger, this icon will appear in the upper right corner.
- Fast charging shows an interlaced double lightning bolt. This icon shows that our terminal and charger are compatible with fast charging.
This change will also be reflected in the form of text. If the load is normal, the message " Loading " will appear. If the charge is fast, the message " Fast charge " will appear. However, there is a more accurate way to know if your Xiaomi mobile is compatible with fast charging and if you are taking full advantage of it. To do this, instead of relying on a simple icon, we will enter the system settings.
Two ways to know if your Xiaomi mobile is charging at maximum speed
Many Xiaomi terminals are compatible with fast charging chargers from other manufacturers. However, you won't always get the most out of ' Mi Turbo Charge ' and other proprietary Xiaomi technologies. For example, the Xiaomi Mi 11 supports 55W fast charging but will also get the most out of a 33W charger like the one included in the box of a POCO X3 Pro .
But there is a very important and little known difference. Let's use the Xiaomi Mi 11 used during our tests as an example: if you use fast charging less than the maximum allowed by said mobile, the 'Mi Turbo Charge' icon will not appear .
On the other hand, if you use the official Xiaomi charger with a maximum charge limit of 55W, the 'Mi Turbo Charge' icon will appear as soon as you connect it to the currents.
To know exactly if your Xiaomi is charging by fast charging, you must follow this route:
- Go into ' Settings' .
- Now tap on the ' About phone ' option.
- Now choose the ' All Specs ' option.
- Lastly, scroll down to the ' Status ' option.
In this last section you can see if you are enjoying slow, fast or normal charging. In fact, you will also be able to check if your USB cable is having problems and is not charging correctly, which is common with older cables or those that use older connection standards, such as USB 3.0 and 3.1 generations . Luckily, this is a foolproof method, since you will be checking the performance directly from MIUI.

My Xiaomi 11t Pro 5G used to charge at full capacity but after a few days of having to charge it with an off-brand adapter it never reached full charging-capacity again, even with the original 120W adapter. How do I fix this? I followed all the steps but nothing seemed to be helpful.
