Galaxy S22 FE: Puts Samsung on a MediaTek chip
The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE was launched just a few months ago and rumors are already circulating about its successor. Back in January, it was reported that the 2022 Galaxy A series could feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chip. Meanwhile, it seems that not only the A series device but also the Samsung Galaxy S22 FE will feature the Dimensity 9000.
According to a Weibo tipster, the flagship Dimensity 9000 chipset is likely to appear in a mid-range Samsung smartphone. Although he didn't give the exact name, he said it's either the Galaxy S22 FE or the Galaxy A53 Pro.
However, since the older Galaxy A series does not have a Pro variant, the existence of the Galaxy A53 Pro is quite unlikely. It is therefore more likely that Samsung will use the Dimensity 9000 in the Galaxy S22 FE.
The Dimensity 9000 processor is one of the fastest chipsets currently on the market. Still, using it in a Galaxy Fan Edition is a first for the company. The Galaxy S21 FE uses the same Snapdragon 888 and Exynos 2100 chipsets as the other phones in the Galaxy S21 series.
The tipster also mentions that the Dimensity 9000 powered phone will have a 4,500mAh battery. This is the same battery capacity as the other FE models - Galaxy S20 FE and S21 FE.
