o2 app before the end: Act quickly - or the bonus is gone

o2 and Comdirect end their cooperation. Drastic changes are imminent for o2 customers who use the joint banking offer or the "o2 Money" app. If you don't take action yourself in time, you can lose the bonus you have accumulated over the last few years.

o2 discontinues financial app: o2 Money and current account "o2 Banking" before the end

With the "o2 Money" app and o2 banking, two of the mobile operator's services are on the verge of collapse. Customers only have a few weeks to look for alternatives and secure their bonus. The o2 finance app will be discontinued on April 30, 2022. Anyone who has not secured money from the o2 Money bonus program by May 31, 2022 will get nothing.

The Comdirect Bank, with which o2 works together for the applications, is currently providing information about this. Both sides had agreed not to continue the cooperation from the end of April. This is a big turning point for users of the app. The functions such as the budget book, automatic contract overview and the monthly budget are only available until April 30th .

Only the possibility of having the collected bonus paid out – from a minimum amount of 1 euro – remains until the end of May. The credit is transferred to the account linked to the app. If you still have unused bonus, you have to initiate the transfer yourself. If you don't take action or miss the deadline, you lose the entire amount.

No need to worry for account holders: At Comdirect everything stays the same

Anyone who has opened a current account with Comdirect through cooperation with o2, on the other hand, does not have to fear any changes. The account remains under the same conditions , and the associated cards remain valid. Apple Pay and Google Pay will also continue to work.

How to protect yourself when banking online:

There are two differences: Anyone who has used the two percent bonus interest from o2 as a Comdirect customer must now do without it. The bonus program has also come to an end with the cooperation, and Comdirect is not planning to offer a connection. In addition, if lost or expired, only cards in the Comdirect design will be issued.

Applications to open a new account via o2 banking will only be processed if they are submitted before March 14, 2022 and all necessary documents for legitimation are submitted.
