Deadline June 7th: Will the uniform EU charging cable come?
On June 7th it could be time. If everything goes well, the EU will adopt a uniform charging cable as the standard on that day. On that day, the European Commission plans to establish USB-C as the recommended standard.
For more than 10 years, the European Commission has been working on adopting a uniform standard for charging cables for technical devices. And next week it should finally be ready, as you can now read.
The last trialogue between the EU countries and the EU legislators on this topic is to be scheduled for next Tuesday. This indicates that an agreement should/will be reached that day.
And the EU is not only pushing for a uniform standard for wired charging. Wireless charging systems are also to be standardized by 2025.
