Game of Thrones: Jon Snow sequel series is in development for HBO

Game of Thrones

HBO has now begun early development on the first sequel to its fantasy blockbuster Game of Thrones. It is a spinoff series centered on the character Jon Snow.

Kit Harington is set to reprise the role if the series continues. The actor was twice nominated for an Emmy for his portrayal of an action hero.

In the eighth and final season of Thrones, Jon Snow found out that his real name is Aegon Targaryen, a potential heir to the Iron Throne. In the series finale, he was banished from Westeros and traveled north of the Wall with the wildlings, leaving his old life behind.

Since the end of Game of Thrones, Kit Harington has appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he starred in 2021's Eternals.

Neither HBO nor Kit Harington have commented on the possible Game of Thrones sequel series.
