TSMC wants to set up its first European chip factory in Germany
TSMC is apparently planning to build its first-ever chip manufacturing facility in Europe. Germany will be the location for its newest semiconductor fab, and the company is reportedly in advanced talks with the German government for the plan.
According to a new report, the world's largest contract manufacturer of chips is in serious and advanced talks with the German state to build this new chip factory.
The talks between TSMC and Saxony are "serious and advanced". In addition, delegations from the eastern German state have also traveled to Taiwan to promote this plan with the chipmaker.
