To remind us of the evolution carried out in these 9 years, Xiaomi has uploaded to its profile in Weibo several captures that show us the design change that the main icons of the systems have undergone. A great leap that has gone through the various fashions that we have been seeing in the user interfaces such as the icons in 3D design , the shadows or the current minimalist design that predominates in the market.

As we can see on these lines, the design of the MIUI 1 icons was already quite modern for the time , showing us images with 3D design and rounded edges. The step towards MIUI 2 was chosen to make a somewhat flatter design while its icons received an aesthetic change from rounded to more straight corners.

The most significant changes were received in MIUI 5 and MIUI 7 , where the design of the icons received a great renovation using simpler and minimalist lines . Also in MIUI 8 and MIUI 9 the icons became even flatter and the variety of colors was reduced to achieve a more discreet balance between them.

Finally, with the arrival of MIUI 10 the design of the theme of each icon referring to the native applications of the personalization layer was renewed, giving way to a much clearer theme , which in large part of the applications represents in a way much more specific what each one is about.
